State-of-the-art technology and Manufacturing processes
Utilizing cutting-edge technology and a meticulous process, Bharathi TMT ensures the highest quality for its TMT steel bars. During the initial stages of thermomechanical treatment, billets are required to be elevated to a uniform temperature. For this purpose, Bharathi TMT uses a fully automated 1200°C oil type, or furnace oil fired pusher type reheating furnace. After ensuring the uniform temperature of the billets, they are passed on through Bharathi TMT’s High-speed automated 23 pass rolling mill at a speed of 30 metres per second. Steel bars coming through the 23 pass rolling mill are of 1200°C are then passed on through the patented German-made quenching system equipped with Thermex – QST technology, for effective quenching. After quenching, the TMT bars come out at a temperature of nearly 500°C and are then passed through the advanced fully automated cooling bed for self-tempering.
Reinforcing the future with a fine tradition in steel
The quality of TMT bars produced entirely depends on the chemical purity and quality of the raw materials used to fabricate them. And the purity of the raw material used for fabricating a TMT bar depends on the proportion and form of its constituent elements, namely, sulphur, phosphorus, and manganese. The first stage of thermo-mechanical treatment includes super heating the raw material or steel billet uniformly to 1200°C. Only those raw materials that have undergone uniform heating throughout will successfully withstand the reduction process without any loss in strength and ultimately results in producing the 100% quality TMT bars. When majority of the TMT brands in the country uses ingots obtained from scraps, Bharathi TMT chooses 100% refined steel billets, from the country’s premium steel manufacturers, namely Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Vizag Steel, etc. This leads to the fabrication of the BIS specified Fe550D grade steel bars.
